Fairfax County Absentee Ballot Return
Voters who receive a mail ballot but cannot vote in person—and prefer not to return their ballot through the U.S. Postal Service (USPS)—may drop their absentee ballot at:
- Fairfax County’s permanent absentee ballot drop box.
- Early voting locations during opening hours
- On election day at any precinct polling location, 6 a.m. – 7 p.m.
The secure drop box is located outside the front entrance of the Fairfax County Government Center, on the brick plaza to the left of the entrance near the accessible parking spaces. Once early voting begins, the permanent drop box is available 24 hours a day.
On Election Day, ballots must be placed in the drop box by 7 p.m.
